Cheri DeVries
Executive Director

Cheri DeVries
Executive Director
Cheri DeVries fell in love with Mothers Helping Mothers after volunteering one day with her church group and she's never left. "There's something about bringing a smile to a child's face or being there to wipe a tear from a mom and watch hope return that makes this place so magical."
Over the past decade, she has not only expanded the physical space of MHM, but also broadened its mission and services. As the Executive Director, she coordinates the all-volunteer organization.
Cheri DeVries was born and raised in Southern California. She and her husband reside in Venice, FL, and are newly empty-nesters with their blended family of four girls now out of the house.

Cindy was born in Missouri and raised in Winnetka, Illinois. Her family moved to Sarasota when she started high school. Cindy attended Florida State University and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems. She then moved to Tampa and worked as a programmer and systems analyst for a small software company. In 1989 Cindy and her husband moved back to Sarasota and opened the Dry Dock Waterfront Grill on Longboat Key with her parents.
After 26 years, Cindy retired from the restaurant business and decided to put her management, financial and IT skills to work at Mothers Helping Mothers. Her passion for data management and creating new systems has elevated MHM capacity to serve thousands of clients.

Donna Love
Client Resource Director

Donna Love
Client Resource Director
In 2017, Donna Love began working as an Early Literacy Outreach Specialist for the Sarasota County Public Libraries while volunteering at MHM. Donna realized that she could use the social service agency connections she made during her time at the library to greater use at MHM and retired from the library to become the MHM Client Resource Coordinator and joined the board as secretary.
For the past decade, Donna has built a team of MHM volunteers to develop a comprehensive program that assists families in the local community. This program equips them with the necessary tools to overcome challenges and connects them with other services and resources to help build resiliency and self-sufficiency.

It is my honor and privilege to be a part of the mission at Mothers Helping Mothers for so many years. I have witnessed firsthand, over and over again, the positive impact we have had on so many struggling families.
One of the greatest gifts has been the lasting friendships that have been made between our amazing family of volunteers.

It’s been an incredible life experience to be part of MHM over the last 30 years as we continue to evolve, serving the needs of our community in such a hands-on way. Being even the smallest part of so many success stories has been life-changing.
We have the privilege of being the messenger; the link between our generous community and the families we serve. It’s such a simple concept and it works!
