A Note from Mothers Helping Mothers |
While the rest of the country is cooling off, here in Florida we’re enjoying those gentle breezes and golden sunsets that mark the start of fall. It’s a season of gratitude and reflection — and our hearts are full as we look back on all that’s been accomplished, thanks to you, our incredible supporters, volunteers, and friends. Because of your generosity, families right here in our community continue to find hope, help, and a welcoming hand when they need it most. |

A special thanks to our host, Erika Reyes, founder of Lela V. An avid runner raised by a single mom, Erika brought the vision for this first-ever race—combining her passion for active lifestyles with her heart for helping families.
She honored MHM and the families we serve by creating an unforgettable day that truly gave back, and she absolutely nailed it! |

|
The celebration started early with our Boots & Brews Pre-Kickoff Party at Calusa Brewing, where friends, families, and supporters gathered to enjoy local brews, live music, and great company — all while gearing up for race day. The excitement and generosity that night set the tone for what turned out to be one of our most successful fundraisers yet! When race day arrived, the energy was contagious. From the starting line cheers to the final finishers, every moment was filled with smiles, laughter, and a shared purpose — helping local moms and families thrive. We’re so grateful to everyone who ran, walked, volunteered, or cheered us on. You made this event truly unforgettable! |

Client Stories that Inspire |
|
|
| Meet Alexis — A Story of Strength & Hope |
Alexis, a young mom of two, moved to Florida to escape an abusive relationship—arriving with almost nothing. Shortly after, she discovered Mothers Helping Mothers. “MHM listened, cared, and supported me through chaos,” she said. “They provided clothes, diapers, food, and emotional support when I needed it most.” Now rebuilding her life, Alexis is already planning to give back. “It could happen to anyone,” she reminds us. “We all need support sometimes.” |

| Meet Attniet—Sewing a New Start |
Thanks to your support, MHM’s Sew From Home program is helping moms earn income while caring for their newborns—right from their own homes. Participants receive $15/hour to sew handmade ring sling baby carriers using materials fully provided by MHM. These slings are then gifted to other new moms in need, creating a beautiful cycle of care and empowerment. This fall, we are highlighting Attniet, a mother of three who joined the program to help cover household bills while staying home with her baby. Her journey is a powerful example of how innovation, dignity, and community support can transform lives. |

A very special thank-you to the Rockin’ Robins Sewing Club, led by Martha Broomely, who trains participating moms and generously sources fabric and materials. Your partnership is not just teaching a skill—it’s building futures. Clients can apply for the Sew From Home program during their shopping visit at MHM. |

MHM is preparing for construction beginning November 7th. We are securing an off-site location for our back-of-store operations, which will allow us to add 1,800 square feet of much-needed storage and install an elevator for easier access to our Connections Lounge. Due to these updates, our pop-up shop will be closed until further notice as our trailer will be in use for the transition. |
| Our lobby makeover is complete — and it’s looking more welcoming than ever! We wanted the space to reflect the warmth and dignity we strive to offer every mom who walks through our doors. Next time you visit, be sure to stop in and see the transformation for yourself! |

| On December 17th, MHM will once again bring holiday joy to over 1,000 local children, and there are three easy ways you can help: 1. Host a Toy Drive — Place a collection box at your workplace, school, or business to gather new, unwrapped toys through December 15th. 2. Donate Toys or Funds — Drop off new toys or make a financial contribution, and we’ll do the shopping for you. 3. Shop Our Amazon Wish List — Choose gifts online and have them shipped directly to MHM! Every toy, every dollar, and every act of kindness helps make the holidays brighter for our community’s children.

Thanks to the Louis & Gloria Flanzer Philanthropic Trust, every dollar donated by individuals or private foundations will be matched up to $500 per month (up to $3,000 per year) — doubling your impact! Because we have no rent, debt, or electric bills—thanks to solar power—and benefit from thousands of volunteer hours, nearly every dollar goes directly to supporting local families in need. $25 becomes $50 — so donate today and make twice the difference. Business donations are not eligible for matching, but are deeply appreciated. |
